Starting working on the old 50cc Honda again today since it warmed up a bit. Took the gas lank off to try and find the leak to find a lot of loose dirt and rust pieces on the bottom of the tank. So I rinsed the tank out with water (not the best I know and am now using the gas fireplace heat to dry the tank out). See picture. Again not the best idea but there isn't really any better options.

The leak is on a seam of the tank on the bottom where it looks like the weld pulled apart. Not really sure how to fix this since I don't have a welder. Might try to pull the seam apart a bit more and add silicon and press it back together. It doesn't have to be perfect I just want to get it going. Neutral seems to be working again so that's a big plus too.

Here is the whole bike.

If the tank is steel, you might be able to solder it with plumbing solder, flux and a propane torch (fixed a leaky radiator that way once)... but make damn sure the thing doesn't smell the least bit like gas before starting.

It's either a '71 or a '72, if memory serves.
